DONE DEAL
Chesterfield captain Sam Morsy has completed a move to Wigan Athletic after successfully passing a medical with the Latics.
Sam Morsy made an emotional farewell speech in the Chesterfield hospitality lounges last Saturday. In the tearful speech he thanked the Chesterfield fans and staff for taking a chance on him following an unsuccessful spell at Port Vale.
Morsy played 99 league games for Chesterfield, scoring seven times. He guided Chesterfield to the League Two title, Johnstone's Paint Trophy final and the League One play-offs since joining from Port Vale on the 29th of June 2013.
The fee is rumoured to be around the 250k region, with Morsy signing a two and a half year deal.
Some fans have called Morsy the greatest Chesterfield player of all time.
We wish Samy all the best
