Gboly Bidding War!

Chesterfield FC have rejected four different bids from four Championship sides. Two of those sides are confirmed as Barnsley and Brentford. Rotherham, Reading and Glasgow Rangers have all been linked with the pacy winger who is rumored to be valued at 3 million pounds.

Commenting following the Barnsley bid Danny Wilson stated: "We received an offer from Barnsley for Gboly, which can only be described as derisory for a player of his ability and potential. The offer was rejected out of hand.''

"I am keen to keep Gboly as he is very much part of my plans and I know that the board share the same view."

''I'm buoyed by the stance of the club, that they won't just sell their best players for a pittance''

Reacting on Ariyibi's attitude during the speculation Wilson commented: ''He's been brilliant, absolutely fantastic'' ''He's said to me and the Chris the chief executive that he's in no rush to leave'' ''He wants to play his heart out for the club''

Ariyibi has great pedigree and fantastic training at Southampton, this is the academy that has produced Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade Chamberlin and Adam Lallana in recent times. So they seem to know what they are doing with wingers. Not to mention Calum Chambers, Luke Shaw and James Ward Prowse who were all in the same youth team as Gboly.

Gboly representatives state: ''He plays as a winger and being two-footed he is as naturally at ease on either flank. Whilst pace and flair are his key attributes, he stands at 6 foot tall and is a good athlete too.'' Ariyibi is comfortable playing any of the attacking positions including winger, attacking midfielder and supporting striker.

It's remains to be seen if any of Gboly's suitors can reach the Spireites valuation.
