Q&A reveals Simons is still a Spireite!

In a pitch-side Q&A with fans, Gary Caldwell revealed he's happy with how pre-season is going.He says there's nothing you can do about the injuries to Joe Rowley and Jerome Binnom-Williams and tells fans it's brilliant to have Tommy Lee back and that he is a "Chesterfield legend"







Caldwell says you need to adapt to the transfer window and he will continue to improve the Chesterfield squad.

He went onto praise the pre-season tour and explained the importance of a team bonding tour. Caldwell says they squad had a team bonding one on one "speed dating" to talk about football and even love island. Caldwell wants to avoid any cliques forming.

He believes the squad's fitness is in much better shape compared with last season.

Caldwell says the next two friendlies are very important to build winning mentality and says 4 or 5 places are still up for grabs in the starting line up. Caldwell says he's very impressed with the two trialists at the club and they will remain for these matches.

Caldwell told fans he was impressed with all the younger players at Chesterfield and that Charlie and Joe are two of the best 17y/o he's seen. He also singled out Connor Dimaio for praise.

Gary Caldwell confirms Rai Simons is still a Chesterfield player and will sign when he returns in August. He told fans "Everythings agreed" and that "I'm in contact with him"

Gary Caldwell would prefer not to have loan signings but will look into the loan market if the right players are available.
