Could Callum Chettle be the next signing for the Spireites?
The Press Association are reporting that Callum Chettle could be the next signing for Chesterfield FC.
Chettle's agents Full Contract ''Callum joined Ilkeston at age 15 having spent his formative years at Nottingham Forest. After starring for Ilkeston's Academy sides he quickly progressed to senior football, and whilst still aged only 18 he has played well over 90 games at first team level. Callum indeed remains the youngest player to start a competitive game for Ilkeston FC, a feat he achieved whilst still only 16.
A technically gifted and creative central midfield player, Callum has been a virtual ever present in Ilkeston's team for sometime and a key player as they seek to gain promotion to the Conference North at the end of this 2014/15 season. On their final league fixture of the season Ilkeston secured a play-off semi-final berth, against Workington, although they were to sadly fall at the final hurdle against Curzon in the final. For Callum, it was a long and successful season packed with appearances and vital first-team experience.''
It's been reported that Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner is working to get the deal over the line.
