Tommy Lee is here to stay!

Tommy Lee has signed a two-year extension with Chesterfield which will keep him at the Proact Stadium to at least the summer of 2018.

Lee started his career in 2002 with Manchester United. In 2005 he helped United's reserve team win the quadruple this side included players such as Giuseppe Rossi and Gerard Pique.

He was loaned to Macclesfield Town for what was originally one month, but was extended to three months. After impressing Lee signed a Macclesfield joining on a free transfer from Man Utd.

Tommy then went to to sign for Chesterfield back in 2008 after impressing on trial. He has now played a magnificent 275 league games, 14 FA cup and 7 league cup games for the Spireites.

During this time he has won the awards of Chesterfield Young Spireites player of the year 2009. Supporters player of the year for three years running, PFA team of the year 2011 and 2014, as well as the Football League Trophy in 2011/12 and the League Two title with the Spireites in 2010/11 and 2013/14.

Loyalty is not very wide spread in football any more, so the Spireites will be delighted with this contract extension added to the re-signing of favourite Drew Talbot. With 461 starts between them they will both already go down in Chesterfield FC history.
