Next Chesterfield Manager : The Early Favourites?
Danny Wilson
Age: 55
Teams managed: Barnsley, Sheff Weds, Bristol City, MK Dons. Hartlepool United, Swindon Town, Sheffield Utd, Barnsley
Win %: 40.02
Danny Wilson has massive experience as a manager at this level. Lives in Chesterfield and is a Spireite favourite having stared for Chesterfield in the 80's. Unlucky to lose his job at Barnsley to Lee Johnson, a move which has seen the Tykes form worsen.
Ritchie Humphreys
Age: 37
Teams managed: None
Win %: N/A
UEFA A qualified coach and chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) since 2013. Knows the players inside out and has a very good relationship with CEO Chris Turner.
Keith Hill
Age: 45
Teams managed: Rochdale and Barnsley
Win %: 43:71
Similar mould to Paul Cook has taken Rochdale from League Two to the top of League One, could be looking for another challenge having maybe reached Rochdale's potential. Could be too expensive for the Spireites but will be a favourite with the fans.
Nigel Clough
Age: 49
Teams managed: Burton, Derby, Sheffield United
Win %: 41.78
Had good success at Burton and Derby on a very limited finances. Top managerial pedigree, Clough won the Conference Premier Manager of the Month for December 2008, after completing 11 straight wins in the division and guiding Burton to 13 points clear at the top of the table.
Leam Richardson
Teams managed: Accrington Stanley
Win %: 29.78
Not the greatest success in his short management career with a small team but wonderful success as an assistant to Paul Cook. Having missed out on him when Paul Cook left, it looks unlikely a move for Leam would happen now.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank
Age: 43
Teams managed: Royal Antwerp, Burton
Win %: 51.14 (60.38 at Burton Albion)
Player at the highest level and developing as a good young coach. Very much loved at Burton. May have been a better appointment in the summer with Burton now promotion candidates.
Graham Alexander
Age: 44
Teams managed: Preston, Fleetwood
Win %: 38.62
He guided Fleetwood to promotion in 2013–14 by winning the League Two play-offs. He thenguided the Cod Army to a 10th-placed finish just six points off the play-off places.
