Donohue Delights Danny!
Danny Wilson says he's been delighted by the performances of Chesterfield's young left sided Welshman Dion Donohue. Twenty two-year-old Donohue has taken part in the Spireites last six matches, starting five. The versatile youngster has played at left back, center midfield and left wing.
At the age of eleven Donohue signed with Merseyside club Everton, during his time at Goodison he represented Wales internationally at youth level. After not earning a professional deal he returned to north Wales and played amateur football with Porthmadog, Holyhead Hotspur and Caernarfon Town, before joining Sutton Coldfield of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South league, which is the eight tier of English football.
After impressing on trial in pre-season Donohue signed a deal with Chesterfield and has been thrust into the action following the injury to first choice left back Dan Jones.
Wilson went on to praise Donohue for holding his own in a number of positions against good players in League One recently.
