Chris Herd : Fact File




Chesterfield have made the marquee signing of 26-year-old Chris Herd. He has signed a deal with the Spireites until January. The deal also includes an option to extend the deal at the Proact until the end of the season.

Unfortunately for Spireites, Herd did not sign in time to be eligible to play in the match with Colchester United at the Proact tomorrow.

Herd made his Premier League debut against Manchester United on 13 November 2010, he was used as a late substitute in the 2–2 draw at Villa Park. 

He became a first team regular for Villa in the 2011-12 season playing 19 times for the Villains that season.

Herd played 31 times in the Premier League for Villa. Herd was then hit with various injuries which limited him to just 7 league appearances over two years cutting short loans at Championship sides Bolton and Wigan.

Herd scored once in the Premier League against Liverpool.
