Best Signing
Chesterfield DO make the best signing of this transfer window:
PAUL COOK
On the 25th of October 2012, Chesterfield FC took the step to appoint a fairly unknown manager Paul Cook. This manager has taken us on a journey, winning league two, took us to the JTP final which we probably gave a better display than the year we won the trophy. Took us to Derby in the forth round of the FA Cup and up to the play-off places in League One.
We have watched our team play beautiful football, showing a positive attitude and turning even the most negative fan into an optimist. We can now keep him to the summer of 2017.
He brought us this new 4-2-3-1 formation! Made us pass and press and we've enjoyed every minute! He has made us love our team, love our players and back whatever he does. Chesterfield are a well liked club currently, with our nice new stadium, good manager, hard working players, playing attractive football. Chesterfield are not a dirty team, they play with lots of passion but they don't cheat or play ugly. Chesterfield have a well liked manager who is forging great links with other clubs and managers. The Spireites are well liked by other teams for their passing style and playing good attacking, attractive football.
Not only has he made almost 2 million pounds for the club, he has made our club very valuable and very successful.
This is the progression during his time at the club.
This is where Chesterfield were
After Paul Cook's first game in charge Chesterfield were languishing in 16th place in League two. Chesterfield are now 5th in league one!
Cook did have to take the big decision to release Jack Lester, this was a massive move to make but I think Spireites would now agree the time was right.
Not only is the team better now, playing the best football anyone can remember, the club is stronger and the assets within the club are worth more than ever.
The transformation from then to now is incredible!
To sign Paul Cook up for longer is a fantastic move and it is a fantastic move for all parties involved.
Well Done Chesterfield FC.
Lets hope Paul Cook is here for a very long time and we keep the current amount of success going.
Thank you Paul Cook, we truly are your barmy army.
In Paul Cook we trust!
