Contracts ready to sign

We're hearing that Dean Saunders has written up seven contracts for seven key targets of which he hopes three or four will consider signing.

Saunders is finding it difficult to secure the Championship level players most of which are still training or on trial at Championship sides.

It becomes a waiting game and creates a poker match between Saunders and his high profile targets. With Saunders not wanting to wait to long for the players to sign and the players trying to sign the biggest club they can. The closer to transfer deadline day the more need there is for the club to make signings and a player to sign.

In an interview with BBC Radio Sheffield Saunders conceded he may have to lower his sights and that it was taking long than expected to get the transfer targets over the line.

Saunders needs to say strong and not panic, it's a waiting game for him, as well as us.
