Three defeats from three for the Spireites

Chesterfield slump to their third defeat in a row with a disappointing 3-0 loss at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium. The game saw the Spireites produce zero shots on target. A Nathan Tyson rebound from a penalty, an Andy Williams close range finish and added time goal from Cameron Stewart were the difference between the two teams.

Spireites manager Dean Saunders fielded the same eleven that were defeated by Port Vale on Saturday. The back four of Sam Hird, Ian Evatt, Richard Wood and Dan Jones retained their places as Saunders chose to name a settled defense.

Chesterfield started quickest out of the blocks with Lee Novak crossing into Sylvan Ebanks-Blake who volleyed the ball into the bottom corner of the net only to see the linesman flagging for offside. 

It wasn't until the 62nd minute when Dan Jones failed to clear the ball down the left wing, this saw the ball return into the Chesterfield area where he was judged to have handled the ball. Penalty Doncaster! Nathan Tyson stepped up for Doncaster....and misses.... but slots home the rebound 1-0.

Youngsters Gboly Ariyibi, Rai Simons and Ollie Banks were brought on in the 63rd minute and added some extra energy to the Spireites ranks, but with 70 minutes gone Doncaster doubled their lead when Andy Williams taps in a low cross past Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee.

Good wing play by Ariyibi saw the youngster beat his man down the wing and cross towards Ebanks-Blake but he headed just wide of the post from eight yards out. 

During added time a defensive mistake from Ian Evatt gifted the ball to the home side and Cameron Steward ran through and slotted home against the stranded Tommy Lee.
