Contract extension rejected

Chris Turner has revealed that star midfielder Jimmy Ryan has turned down the initial contract extension. In a revealing interview with the Chesterfield Post, Turner had this to say on the matter.

''Jimmy Ryan like everyone else was offered an extended deal, but he turned it down.'' 

''His agent hasn't been to see Paul or myself regarding putting an offer to us.''

''His agent hasn't been back to us saying this is what we want.''

''I think he's played his best football under Paul, enjoys it here and I don't foresee a massive problem with him not being here next season - but if that was the case, we would find someone else.''

''If players don't want to stay here, we move onto the next players''

Ryan who has been heavily linked with a move to Sheffield United is currently out injured.
