Sheridan full of praise for returning Spireite

Former Chesterfield boss John Sheridan was full of praise for returning Spireite Drew Talbot following his re-call to the Chesterfield squad.

Talbot who was one of Sheridan's first permanent signings when he joined the Spireites as manager back in July 2009, initially joined the Spireites on loan from Luton Town in January 2009.

Now six years on and 208 league and cup appearances later, Talbot finds himself as the second longest serving member of the Chesterfield playing staff.

Sheridan heaped praise upon the Chesterfield player who joined Plymouth on loan in January to regain fitness after a long term injury. Talbot, who is well known for his versatility played nine times for the Pilgrims, mainly at left back or centre midfield.

"The way he trains you want people to learn off him, that's why he's played for so long in this division," said Sheridan.

"He's an excellent player for this league and the league above. He's set standards for himself and I wish one or two people would look at him and watch what he does and how he prepares."

"Everyone thinks it's easy, but it's not. He's worked hard to be where he is and he's had a good career," added Sheridan.
