Who is the number one striker?

The dust has settled, Eoin Doyle has gone.

Paul Cook has a new set of strikers and here are the fabulous four,

But, Is Armand Chesterfield FC's number one striker?

Name: Armand Gnanduillet

Highest League Start: League One

Name: Caolan Lavery
Age: 22
League Games: 13 (23 as sub)
Highest League Start: Championship
Goals: 7

Name: Byron Harrison
Age: 27

Chesterfield now certainly have big presences in the forward positions, Mani is 6 foot 5, Armand 6 foot 4 and Byron a mere 6 foot 3.

Armand is a player we know well, we know what to expect. The 22 year old Ivorian is now the most experienced striker with the Chesterfield set up. If Armand looks lively in a game you are in for a treat, Gnanduillet can be pacey, strong and imposing.

Caolan Lavery has represented Northern Ireland under 21's seven times but is still eligible to play for the Canadian and Republic of Ireland nationals teams as well as the Northern Ireland senior team. Lavery will likely take the Doyle role, getting in behind, finding the space, using intelligence and skill to find a goal. Lavery has started and impressed in the Championship, so at all full fitness Caolan should impress at this level.

Byron Harrison is that something different, a tall strong player who is technically very gifted. Harrison to his own admission has not yet reached his full potential. Harrison might just have joined the right club at the right time, a couple of weeks ago Harrison was unwanted at a mid table league two club, if Harrison can find his form he could find himself starting for a top league one side.

Paul Cook likes a project. He saw potential in Armand Gnanduillet and I think he's seen the same thing in Mani. He will hope he can get the best from the 19 year old. Mani has now had time to settle at the Spireites, with Caolan Lavery coming in he could be playing alongside a player he has partnered many times.

All four of these strikers will be hoping they can fill Eoin Doyle's boots and all four have a wonderful platform to do this. As we learnt from last season chopping and changing doesn't get the best out of strikers, Eoin Doyle and Marc Richards have proved that this season being the leading scorer in league one and in league two. Other than Paul Cook and his staff no one knows who will be the leading striker for the Spireites. It'll be interesting to see which player(s) are the new Chesterfield starting strikers.
