Dean Saunders WILL enter the transfer market

With Sam Clucas set to depart for a Chesterfield FC record fee of around one point three million pounds, Chesterfield manager Dean Saunders is ready to enter the transfer market.

''I'm disappointed to have lost him. One point three million pounds is a lot of money''

Saunders has only entered the transfer market to sign marquee signing Sylvan Ebanks Blake and to pick up youngsters Jake Orrell and Dion Donahue. The Chesterfield manager feels that now is the time to strike.

''I've had them lined up just in case, there's a lot of players on trial at Premier League clubs and Championship clubs who might not get a contract, I know where they are''

Saunders is keen to move swiftly and have as much time with the new player(s) as possible. With the additional funds raised from the sales of Sam Clucas and Gary Roberts, Saunders believes he can sign a player of higher calibre for the Spireites ranks.

''It's the difference from us getting a Championship player and a League One player"

The extra money could go a long way to persuading a player to drop down a league.

"I'll be able to give them a bit more salary, that I couldn't give them before''
