Welcome Jake Orrell and Dion Donahue!

Eighteen-year-old Jake Orrell and twenty one-year-old have signed deals with the Spireites.

Dion Donahue is a twenty one-year-old, left-footed midfielder. He spent six years at Goodison Park with Everton and during his time at Everton he represented Wales internationally at youth level.

More recently Donahue signed for Welsh side Caernarfon Town who play their football in the Welsh second tier. From Caernarfon he signed for Sutton Coldfield FC. Last season Donahue helped Sutton Coldfield promote from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South league, which is the eight tier of English football, into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division, tier seven, this is the level in which Matlock Town, Buxton and Ilkeston play their football.

Donahue has impressed in the games against Matlock Town and Buxton and appeared as an over aged player in Chesterfield's youth teams 2-2 draw at Clipstone, where he scored from a 25 yard free-kick. In the games against Matlock and Buxton Dion wore the number 25 shirt.

Jake Orrell, born in Sunderland, turned eighteen on Friday.

In the last couple of years Orrell has played his football for Sunderland U18's, Seaham Red Star in Durham, has been named Gateshead College U18 Player Of The Year as well as playing for Durham county schools team and most recently playing in the reserves for Vanarama National League (Football Conference) side Gateshead.

Orrell only moved to the Spireites on the 29th of July. Since then he has made a massive impact on Dean Saunders who has promoted him from the Chesterfield Development Squad (also known as the shadow squad) and has made him part of every game since he has taken over as Chesterfield manager.

The short centre forward looked impressive in his first game against Matlock Town and was rewarded with a goal in his second game against Buxton.

The short forward Orrell has a wonderful tutor in new manager Dean Saunders, who himself is only 5 foot 8.
