Who YOU want as next Chesterfield manager

A massive 705 of you voted 1211 times for who you would like to see as your next Chesterfield FC manager.

Your overwhelming favourite was current Chesterfield FC assistant manager Leam Richardson.

By the time this story is published Richardson may have already packed his bags and be following Paul Cook down to Portsmouth. It has been reported that he will be joining his long term colleague at the League Two team. If not, Spireite fans seem very keen on retaining the current Chesterfield number two.

Second place for Spireites was current Rochdale manager Keith Hill. Hill has done a fantastic job the dale seeing their promotion from League Two in 2009/10 and having them promoted alongside the Spireites in 2013/14. This season Hill has guided Rochdale to 8th in League One on limited resources.

A man with an uncertain future is Mark Warburton. Warburton finished a close third in our poll and is likely to have many suitors having promoted from League One with Brentford in 2013/14. This season he finds himself in the Championship play offs with a 52% win ratio but could be without work whatever he achieves with the Bees.

Next up was a very well known name.... Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The dutchman has been making his way up the managerial ladder starting at Chelsea's under-16's and then coaching the Nike Academy while taking his UEFA 'B' and 'A' licences. Hasselbaink has spent time in Belgium managing Royal Antwerp before moving onto Burton Albion where he saw them to the League Two Championship this season.

The next two candidates on our poll are very familiar names to Spireites. Jack Lester scored 145 votes despite never managing in the Football League. ''Sir'' Jack is currently managing Nottingham Forest's U18's.

Ritchie Humphreys also faired well on our poll. Humphreys is of course already aware of the players, staff and fans at Chesterfield and his playing career is nearing it's end. He is UEFA A qualified and able to handle pressure being current chairman of the PFA. Humphreys has a close relationship with CEO Chris Turner having been invited to have a trial by the CEO. Turner also managed Humphreys at Hartlepool.
