Premier League outfit in for Doyle

Burnley are rumoured to be adding themselves onto the already growing list of suitors for Chesterfield's Eoin Doyle. The Clarets who currently lie 19th of the Barclays Premier League have only scored ten times this campaign, which makes them the lowest scorers in all the English football league.

The Dublin born Doyle, 26, has netted nearly double the Burnley tally, scoring nineteen goals so far this season, these goals are already courting interest from Millwall, Reading, Bristol City and Sheffield United. His wide range of goals have alerted the attentions of The Clarets who may have to replace Danny Ings, with Newcastle United rumoured to be looking to snap him up in January.

Sean Dyche, Burnley manager, now 43, played 269 times for The Spireites between 1989 and 1997. Dyche featured in the team that reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup alongside such Spireite legends as Kevin Davies and Mark Williams who both went onto Premiership teams. Andy Morris who was part of the youth development at Chesterfield, former kitman Tony Lormor and current Chesterfield physio Jamie Hewitt, among others.

Dyche still follows The Spireites and has kept a close eye on the Spireites progression up the football league and has plenty of contacts and friends still in North Derbyshire and watching Chesterfield week in, week out. The Clarets are reported to have a number of targets in mind to bolster their forward options. With The Spireites reluctant to sell but this wont stop admirers of the nineteen goal Irishman.
