Jimmy Ryan is Blades number one target

Sheffield United's interest in Spireites pair Eoin Doyle and Sam Morsy could be coming to an end with Nigel Clough dismissing speculation linking them to the Chesterfield piar,
Clough was very quick to dismiss interest in Morsy, but a little bit more coy on the signing of Doyle. It appears the Blades have been out-priced with the big fees Chestefield FC are asking for both of these players.

The Blades have now turned their full attentions to their third Chesterfield transfer target, a man Clough has publicly admired, Jimmy Ryan.

The defensive midfielder who has formed a magnificent partnership with Samy Morsy since the pair signed for the Spireites in 2013. The pair have gained many admirers and are very important to the clubs current success. Ryan is also making a habit of scoring very important goals, often long range screamers.

Both Paul Cook and Chris Turner are keen for Ryan to stay and a new contract has been offered to him.

Chris Turner "the ball is in Jimmy's court, we would like him with us"

Paul Cook ''Jimmy’s happy here and wants to stay''

With Ryan out of contract in the summer the club are looking to get a fee for the tricky midfielder or to sign him up on a long term contract rather than letting him leave for free.

It is uncertain if Ryan will feature against MK Dons tomorrow

Paul Cook has commented that midfielder Jimmy Ryan will play at MK Dons if fit, but a decision will be made on his fitness ahead of the match.
