Player Ratings - Port Vale

Lee - 8 - Commanded his area well and pushed the defence up. A quiet day, did have to make one superman grab and happy to see the ball hit the cross bar and keep his clean sheet.

Darikwa - 8 - Solid at right back with some nice attacking runs from full back, great cover from Boco is seeing the best from Tendayi.

Clucas - 7 - Not his best day at left back, but a good performance. Had to deal with the tricky Marshall and for a player who was playing striker at his former club he is proving himself a steady left back.

Raglan - 9 - Outstanding by young Raglan again. Commanding and controlling with composer of a year that has been in the team for years. A superb goal to top of a great day for Charlie, again.

Hird - 8 - A wonderful partner for Raglan. Reads the game wonderfully, deserving of his clean sheet today.

Morsy - 9 - Made himself space all game long which gave him the freedom to start off moves and control the game, linked in with all the flair players and kept himself out of trouble, a fabulous display once again.

Humphreys - 7 - At 37 years old and playing his 6th game in around 20 days Ritchie's fitness is a credit to himself. Found himself taken off to give Jimmy Ryan a run out and may find himself rested for Tuesday. His great range of passing and reading of the game offers something different from CDM.

Roberts - 8 - A great game for Gary, found space and time on the ball which allowed him to pull the strings. His fluidity with the team allowed him to pop up anywhere on the pitch and bring players into the game with his quick passing.

Boco - 8 - Rommy Boco isn't going to let his place in the team be taken away from him. With so much talent able to play in right midfield in the squad, Boco is finding his hard working attitude and wonderful work rate keeping himself in the team. His flair and skill were also on show and one of the important factors to Chesterfield's recent form.

Doyle - 8 - Doyle's energy and work rate always make him a threat, although he didn't find to many pockets to play in as Port Vale were pressed back so far he did get himself a well deserved goal.

Gnanduillet - 9 - A 9 for our number 9, finally putting a string of games together. Played wonderfully today and looked fantastic going forward and also bombing back for his team mates. Handled the abuse from the Port Vale fans in the correct way. Chesterfield's early goal helped him as the team could play football rather than it just being lumped at him. Armand definitely has an extra gear sometimes and we saw it today.

Subs:

Ryan - 8 - Looked as if he has never been away, as hungry as ever. A great game to come in to.

O'Shea - 8 - Enjoyed the space he had to play in, likes his short, quick passing and was able to link up nicely with the other attacking players.

Gardner - 7 - Not much time to play but Dan is certainly full of confidence at the moment. Need to not always try and do everything himself, but a good display on his road to first team football.
