Sheffield United with audacious bid for ANOTHER Spireite
The Sun newspaper has reported that Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough will spend some of his capital cup money to secure the signing of Spireite favourite Jimmy Ryan.
It is unlikely Chesterfield will want to sell the popular midfielder, but Ryan is out of contract in the summer so this may press the matter of offering a contract extension to the 26 year old or demanding a fee if Ryan is looking to leave, which is unlikely.
The defensive midfielder who has formed a magnificent partnership with Samy Morsy since the pair signed for the Spireites in 2013. The pair have gained many admirers and are very important to the clubs current success. Ryan is also making a habit of scoring very important goals, often long range screamers, this includes the top class outside the box volley scored against Gillingham yesterday.
Paul Cook will work extremely hard to keep this close group of players together, the current unity of the group is obvious to see. Come January Cook is likely to remove Sheffield United from his phonebook in the hope to avoid selling Ryan or defensive midfielder partner Sam Morsy or even on form striker Eoin Doyle to the Blades this January!
