Billy Beresford joins on non-contract deal.

Paul Cook has revealed that central midfielder Billy Beresford has signed on a non-contract term and will be on the bench tomorrow.

Billy signed for Scunthorpe United youth after he asked to be released from Sheffield United where he wasn’t enjoying himself. 

His father is John Beresford, the ex Newcastle United full back. He is a similar player to John in a lot of ways. As a youngster John wasn’t a left back, and in fact was a left sided central midfielder and where Billy also plays.

He is a very enthusiastic player and technically a very good player with great awareness of those around him as well as good passing skills and has a great change of pace.
