Feel Good Factor!

Chesterfield FC Captain Ian Evatt took to Twitter and Instagram to post about the Christmas party in London with the tagline

''What a weekend with the lads money can't buy team spirit !!!''

Despite the couple of bad news stories that have come for the club in the last few days the spirit within the Chesterfield camp is still sky high.

This is Paul Cook's team now, he wants all of the players here now, every player that was signed by past managers has proved themselves and everyone else is a Paul Cook signing. Cook has made some brave calls, letting Jack Lester leave being the biggest.

All the staff at the club from the top to the bottom is now Paul Cook's staff. It was tough to lose the staff that had been here for a long time but Paul Cook now has everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

One reason for this togetherness is because of the small squad at Chesterfield, currently the Spireites have 23 professionals. Ollie Banks is out on loan as is Jack Broadhead, Charlie Dawes and Michael Onovwigun. This takes the squad to just 19, take into this injuries to Aaron Chapman, Drew Talbot and Sam Hird, while you can add youngsters Myles Wright and Jake Beesley into the mix who have stepped up to fill the bench. This leaves the squad at just the right amount to give everyone first team experience which is keeping everyone happy.

When posting this picture on Instagram, a certain Daniel Johnson commented on it with a sad, crying emotion which captain Evatt commented with ''Miss u jonno lad''. This shows what a good impression the dressing room had made on the young player who has been at Aston Villa and Oldham too this season.

Keeping the core of the team together is also another key factor to the feel good feeling at Chesterfield, these players have now been together for a couple of years, which is a long time for a team to be together in current football. He has some great characters here who have formed great friendships with each other. When Daniel Jones signed Samy Morsy helped him settle, the same was the case with Charlie Raglan, he was already close to Ollie Banks.

The team spirit can be seen on this goal celebration against MK Dons, 8 players are celebrating just after the goal is scored, it's not just a quick high 5 with a couple of players, everyone is happy, everyone wants to be part of it.

This spirit has filtered down to the youth team. This again is Cook's youth team, all these players joined while he has been here. Paul Cook has only kept Jack Broadhead is the last two years, who he signed very early on. The last two years have seen every other youth playerbeing released. Again this is quite brutal, but now these are Cook's youngsters and they have been here two years with him. The togetherness is clear to see here too.

There is a real connection from the first team to the youth team now, with several first team players taking to twitter to congratulate the youth players.

This is clearly paying off, despite being 0-2 down, they fought back to win 3-2! This shows great character, just what is needed at CFC. This kind of desire we have seen from the first team who have also battled back from similar.

This is a wonderful team spirit from a mid table team, who are winning as many as they lose. The character, togetherness and team work is clear to see. Hopefully this will see the Spireites to success for many years to come.

Well done Paul Cook, keep up the great work!
