Eoin Doyle Update

With just a couple of days to the January transfer window today's transfer speculation has reached fever pitch. On Boxing Day the Spireite striker Eoin Doyle reached the 20 goal mark, this seems to have reignited the interested in the prolific striker.

Today Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Grey has confirmed that Chesterfield striker Eoin Doyle is someone who is on their radar but admits the Championship side are ''more likely'' to be looking for loan signings. Grey also confirmed Chesterfield interest in Paul Corry, who could be used in any potential deals.

While the Owls rivals Sheffield United are rumoured to have acted first and it is said they may have already tested the waters for the Irishman. It will be interesting to see how the Blades follow up their interest. They are likely to have some money to spend in January following their Capital One Cup run but it is unlikely that will reach the Spireites valuation of Doyle. The Blades have also been linked with Midfield two Jimmy Ryan and Sam Morsy.

We believe that Burnley are set to offer Doyle a chance to move to the Premier League. The figure of 1.2 million pound  has been touted by reliable sources. Sean Dyche has been following the Spireites closely as has several close friends monitoring the Spireites. This deal would be hard for the Spireites to turn down.

Reading are also still being linked with the 26 year old. With striker Glenn Murray returning to parent club Crystal Place they are on the hunt for a replacement goalscorer.

However the rumour mill has gone a little bit quiet on the potential move of Doyle to Bristol City or Millwall.
